If you happen to be a PSLE student who’s stuck trying to calculate the area of that circle today, or if you’re an O-Level student who keep getting that arc length wrong because you always forget to convert the sector angle into radians …
Stop now, take a break, and wait till the digital clock strikes 1.59PM 26.5 sec.
That’s when a certain mathematical symbol will glow in your text book, as you’ll suddenly feel your mathematical skills (particularly those involving circles) going up by 3.14159265 times, and everyone’s TOTO chances increases by 3.14159265%, and when the circumference of Miss Loi’s waist hopefully decreases by 3.14159265 inches (on second thoughts, that’s probably not a very good idea).
In any case,
And as part of The Temple‘s Pi Day celebrations, any student who uses π = in their workings today will be made to recite the value of this most famous irrational number for up to 50 decimal places, and watch this lame video a hundred times 😛
P.S. This post was timed to be published at 1.59PM, but apparently the real Pi-Moment should be (respectfully) 1.59AM instead. Oh well … Miss Loi shall have to wait till next year to atone for her sin and exercise her filial π-ty.
P.P.S. And today happens to be a student’s birthday too! Happy Birthday! So can Miss Loi assume that she’ll never see a mistake from you in questions containing π? 😛
