On a rare sunny Monday, Miss Loi visited a Sakae Sushi outlet, along with her Mom and Sis, to celebrate her Sis’s birthday.
When they were seated at the table, the waitress asked,
Can ALL of you show me your IC or student pass?
Miss Loi’s Sis (who IS a student):
Wah! Student got discount?!
Waitress:
No.
Miss Loi (who tutors students):
So why would you want to see our ICs/student passes?
Waitress:
Just to check if you’re adults.
Miss Loi *points to self*:
Do I look like a student?
*points to Mom (who IS a student of English and computer classes at the local CC)*
Does SHE look like a student???
Waitress: … *quickly takes orders and scurries away*
Maybe this is Sakae Sushi’s novel way of flattering its customers. Maybe the waitress (who could be an O-Level student) wanted to collect some customer data of her own to practise her statistics, now that more topics like standard deviation have just been added to the new syllabus.
Maybe it was Miss Loi’s kawaii act-cute outfit.
In any case, maybe she should start believing her Mom whenever she complains about annoying uncles ogling her at the local CC.

Wah Miss Loi, I think you scared the poor waitress lor. Anyway why would they need to check if you are adult makes no sense unless you are ordering Sake or something alcoholic

Arzhou: Miss Loi did check Sakae Sushi's webbie later and there's actually this Students Promotion where, for every 4 students, 1 student will get the Tea Time Buffet free.
But still, with just the 3 of them, the math doesn't quite add up *scratches head*

Oooh you were working in close proximity to The Temple? Did you notice that your math was suddenly better and you were able to perform calculations faster throughout your stint there? LOL
But then again, The Temple could have been in United Square, Goldhill Plaza, Goldhill Shopping Centre, Novena Square, IRAS etc. etc.
