On a public holiday when Miss Loi enjoys a rare moment of smooth traffic along the PIE, when the dreaded “In Operation” sign vanishes from the evil ERP gantries, and when the streets of Novena are largely deserted, a little trail of smoke spirals from The Temple from today’s Matrices joss sticks session for her class of AMaths and EMaths students (yes Matrices have finally invaded EMath territory in the new syllabus).
And being right in the middle of the school term holidays, half of Singapore’s lucky student population are probably romancing each other in some school camp, or riding the ride of their lives in some overseas theme park, or indulging in some manic shopping at either Bukit Bintang or Mahboonkrong or Causeway Bay or 西門町 or Dongdaemun or Shibuya or …
*Snaps back to reality*
In any case, whether you’re reading this from your camp, or your hotel, or your cozy bedroom (having just woken up), Miss Loi would like to take a break from the lonely task of marking papers in her lonely Temple to wish all:
A Very Selamat Hari Raya Haji!

FoxTwo, perhaps the numerous eraser marks might tell you something? 😀
